“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ,” said Paul in his letter to the Colossians, as he guided them to renew their commitment to Christ. Because we, too, are at a turning point, Paul’s words speak to the congregation of Bridgeview in Norman, Oklahoma, as we embark on our building campaign. We have purchased land, we have commissioned architects, and we now seek to fund a building. This is indeed a time for prayer.
We invite you to “devote yourselves to prayer” during a daylong Prayer Vigil on Saturday, February 20, in the sanctuary at Bridgeview. Throughout the day, continuously, we will pray, each individual or family for a thirty-minute time slot, their prayers joined to those of the next member when the new half hour begins. From morning to night we will pray.
Our interconnected prayers will continue after the Vigil and until Commitment Sunday through an electronic prayer chain, built from the positive prayers you extend by writing them on inserts provided in the Sunday bulletins. We invite you to pray for our church through Facebook, too, on Bridgeview’s Facebook page.
You can sign up for the prayer vigil Wednesday at the Ash Wednesday service or by calling the church office at 307-9611. Don't miss this opportunity to pray with your church family!
We seek to build bridges to Christ, to expand our outreach in missions, to bring the people of Norman and Moore to our future home, to hear Bridgeview’s voice stronger in the community, so we will join our voices in prayer and open our hearts “that God may open a door for our message” (Colossians 4: 2).
